I did respond to you...Good to hear from you, Mark. I did respond to you note about your long Fall and Winter. <br />C&S is the way I go to since I do not have wire or foundations on my frames. I have a good wire strainer but it does not have a large capacity. Next time I will use the paint strainer so it can hold the entire out put and let that filter again into the wire strainer. That way I will not have to keep going back and forth emptying and filling the wire strainer.<br />Checking closer it looks like I pulled 6-7 frames total,<br />Bottled 6 - 12ozPET bottles, 12- 6 oz PET bottles and 6 - 6 oz glass bottles about 15 # of honey.<br />I still have the wax oozing a bit more and may get 2-4 6 oz bottles when I am done.<br /><br />Total 15-18 # of honey for 6-7 frames. all Golden Honey From The Dale. <br />There will be a couple pounds of wax when I am done<br /><br />I sell my 6 oz plastic for $5, the glass will be $6 because it costs more and looks fancier.<br />I sell at bee demo's occasionally but end up giving about half of it to friends and family.<br />Not bad for a single hive.Dennis In The Dalehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01594435718593661647noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1670933072068595787.post-43761692544779521202012-05-17T00:26:43.596-07:002012-05-17T00:26:43.596-07:00Great going buddy! One of my hives swarmed two weeks ago and I just happened to see it. They landed 20 feet away in a crabapple bush. Only got one sting but a lot pf pricks from the crabapple, haha! The next day Jose sealed the entire area with a giant piece of screen. No more access for the bees. At some point the Mission will remove the wood doors and replace them with new doors and frame. I left a nuc next to them this morning and they are moving in.
